📖 BOOK SUMMARY
Think Again
By Adam Grant
Overview
I’ve read and reviewed this book before but i’m revisiting it.
Why? Because we’re making updates and changes at Elysium.
Sometimes you don’t need a new book. You need to read the same one in a new season because it will land differently and you can apply it differently.
In Unreasonable Hospitality, Will Guidara shares how he helped transform Eleven Madison Park into the best restaurant in the world.
The core idea is simple: excellence is expected. Hospitality is optional.
You can serve a great product. Or you can create an unforgettable experience. The difference is intention.
Key Learnings
Hospitality Is a Decision
It’s not a department. It’s a mindset. Every interaction is an opportunity to make someone feel seen.Details Create Emotion
It’s often the smallest, most personalized gestures that leave the deepest impression.Empower the Team
Guidara didn’t scale hospitality by micromanaging. He empowered his team to create magic on their own.Excellence Is the Floor, Not the Ceiling
Great product gets you in the game. Experience wins the game.Generosity Compounds
When you lead with generosity (toward guests and staff) culture strengthens and performance follows. Why It Resonates
It’s easy to focus on programming, equipment, systems, numbers. All important.
But what people remember isn’t how well you executed your task list. They remember how they felt walking in the door.
Unreasonable Hospitality reminds me that fitness isn’t just sets and reps. It’s experience. It’s environment. It’s whether someone feels welcomed, known, and valued.

A Conversation with WWE’s Ivy Nile

Summary:
It was awesome to sit down with friend & athlete, Emily (Ivy Nile), to discuss how she maintains discipline in environments that are chaotic.Alongside the WWE’s Ivy Nile (aka Emily Andzulis), we explore how true discipline becomes a source of motivation for those around you, and how choosing to do hard things every single day compounds into a life of genuine satisfaction.
We unpack the framework of non-negotiables with extreme flexibility - rigid standards that allow for grace and adaptation and talk about how to build sustainable habits that transfer directly to real-world performance, why moving your body matters more than how hard you move it, and how the fitness journey teaches you to show up for yourself in ways that ultimately serve every other area of your life.
🚀 5 FACTOR CHALLENGE

Here’s why I like this one: I’ve found that depth doesn’t require more time, just better questions. A small shift in conversation changes everything.
Challenge: In one conversation this week, ask: “What’s been on your mind lately?” — then listen fully. Why you benefit: Deepens relationships, builds trust, and creates space for more meaningful connection.
